Frequently Asked Questions: Is it safe? Your safety is our number one priority. You will receive instruction on a one to one basis from a qualified instructor. Please remember that Alcohol must not be consumed before or during shooting. Do I need a licence? No. We are covered by Section 11(6) of the Firearms Act 1968, which permits the use of shotguns by non certificate holders under supervision on our premises. What do I need to bring? You don’t actually need to bring too much along with you. Common Sense, Warm clothing, Sensible shoes and a willingness to have a go and learn! We will provide the knowledge, the gun, the clays, the cartridges, ear defenders, shooting glasses and a relaxed atmosphere for you to shoot in. Will it hurt me? No. We have a variety of shotguns depending on the customer and we always use low recoil cartridges, which have less impact on your shoulder. Can my friends come along to watch? Yes, everyone is welcome to come along with you to watch, but they must wear ear protection and glasses (we can supply these) and stay in the safe designated areas. Clay shooting is a great spectator sport…and who knows once your guests have watched you they may be tempted to have a go themselves. Can I bring my dog? Yes…well behaved dogs are very welcome, however if the dog is not a trained gun dog, we must insist you keep him/her on a lead at all times. Can I get refreshments? Yes. Tea, Coffee, Soft drinks and biscuits are available to all guests and shooters. And on Sunday mornings we also have an assortment of breakfast rolls available. There are a number of pubs nearby if you wish to arrange lunch or an evening meal. |
